Here is our new dog, Alfie, a 2 year old greyhound whom we have rehomed from Sittingbourne Retired Greyhound Trust in Chartham, nr Canterbury. He's a Lovely boy, who was born (or whelped as they call it!) in 2007 and bred in Ireland. His name was Alfie Moonshine but we just prefer to call him Alfie. He came home with us on 14th March 2009. Here are a few photographs from January/February 2009. I have been experimenting in converting my RAW files to Black & White and am rather pleased with how they have come out. Here are a few of my favourites:
Feeling blue, how about you? Feeling sad, never glad, Feeling down, no one ever around, Feeling shit, wanna stick around for a bit? Feeling bored, feeling flawed, Feeling unhappy, tired and crappy, Feeling broke, it's no fucking joke, Feeling alone, till my man comes home, Feeling angry, never ordinary, Feeling pain, never the same, Feeling funny, whilst the weathers not sunny, Feeling old, achy and cold, Feeling moody and occasionally broody, Feeling tearful, feeling fearful, Still feeling blue, so what's fucking new?!
Today is World Aids Day and I wear my Red Ribbon with Pride, No longer should men and women feel they have to hide, Their faces from the others as they walk along the street, And have to face the prejudice from people that they meet, Lets take this time together to educate the world, And make the message clear that people need be told, That HIV is not always a death sentence anymore, But still affects everyone, men, women, rich or poor, So get tested, know your status, be careful and take care, And remember to respect others, be kind and to share, Now I'm off to light my candle, in memory of those who've died, I hope you'll do the same, and set your fears aside.
I'm 37, live in Margate, Kent with my partner of 9 years and my two boys, James 5 and a half and Matthew 3. I was diagnosed with Scoliosis around 1990, which is a curvature of the spine, and I had an operation in late 1994 to correct the curvature. They straightened my spine with a combination of metal rods attached either side and a bone graft and spinal fusion of the top half of my spine, using donated bone. I now suffer with chronic pain in the left side of my neck and shoulder, back pain throughout the length of my spine and pain in the left sacroiliac joint in my pelvis. So now I am a complete mess! I have created this blog after my friend, Jason said it would be a very good way to display my poems and many photographs that I have taken recently. I use a Canon G9 and Canon 450D, 18-55mm lens and Sigma 70-300mm DG Macro lens. Photography is my hobby when I get the time! Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope its not too boring for you! Please feel free to comment.
